I've totally lost my blogging and photography mojo this year. I thought perhaps I'd be satisfied with an occasional phone post but not really. Today I cleaned the dusty computer desk, fixed the monitor so I could use lightroom again and had a look through the small number of photos I've taken this year. The boys are doing great in 2016, the big one discovering a passion for acting and the youngest being an awesome house captain and footballer. These photos are from February, shortly before Splore and the wonderful play called "Te Po" that we were part of for the Art Festival (I was the official chaperone). Below, the house captains are off on their overnight leadership camp.
We've been dong heaps of geocaching this year and in between shuttling the kids to drama, dance and football, B and I have been playing a lot of bridge. Not together though as someone has to be home with the kids!

Yes boys you can spend your money on lollies at the dairy.
Day three: Took the boys and their friends to the wave pool and hydro slides. Three hours of entertainment for $4 each! Had to stop for a wee play in a new playground on the way home. Kids tired but happy.
Day Four: guitar practice (he's giving it up next year)
Days 7 -9: All about the football tournament... Nationals baby! We were well and truly outclassed though, next year we'll know better than to get ourselves into a tournament with teams two grades above us! Oops.

September was a bit of a mixed up month. We had one boy down with the flu for almost a whole week. Once he started coughing I quarantined him to his bedroom for days, where he slept, read, listened to the radio and hung out with the cat. I felt a bit mean but miraculously the rest of us were spared from the bugs... thank goodness. Eventually he came right and I got to leave the house again.
Online shopping seriously saved my life, I got quite miserable despite having a full fridge.
I spied this new look NZ flag flying proudly the day after they announced the top four.
It was so good to be outside again (and not sick) that I made a special effort to pretend I was ten (and not almost forty) and say YES to the kids requests of climbing up high with them and having flying fox races.
